Hello. I am Jana Pounds, a Licensed Professional Counselor for Texas. I have experience with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationships, biofeedback, and neurofeedback. I enjoy working with a variety of people who feel stuck in life and need someone to walk beside them as they find a better path. If you're looking for support through a challenging situation, contact me. Life was never meant to be lived alone.
Through trauma counseling I have often helped client break free of their past and live in the present. This is a very rewarding experience for both the client and myself. I remember a marine thanking me with tears for helping him get his life back and live in the present with his wife and children.
After the intake we will determine a treatment plan together so we meet your goals. Depending on the goals I am often directive in the session. Sessions may be educational or when you are ready it my be intense.
In the first session I hope to get to know who you are and what your goals are. I explore current symptoms and past attachments.
My motivation to be a therapist is about connection. I believe when people feel supported and safe they are able to become their true selves and they will be able to make the changes they desire.
