Amanda Perez
My name is Amanda Perez and I am a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with a master's degree in counseling psychology from St Elizabeth University.I specialize in counseling preteens, teens, adults, and elders. I bring extensive experience in managing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. Through evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and solution-focused therapy, I tailor my approach to your unique needs and goals.
My proudest moment came during my time working exclusively in substance abuse treatment where I helped a client understand the correlation between their trauma, mental health, and addiction. Watching clients come to understand themselves better is especially rewarding.
You can expect a clinician who is patient, down-to-earth, and genuinely concerned. I support my clients in understanding they have the power and I am here to help them discover that.
Typically, the first session is a time for me to understand not only your situation but you as a person. I look forward to seeing the nuances of my client's personalities and understanding what approaches may work best for them.
Growth in my clients motivates me. There is no greater feeling for a clinician to see a client thrive and even potentially "graduate" from services because they are doing so well.
