About Me

Hello there! My name is Anastasia Lidestri and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey. I have experience working with individuals of all ages that struggle with Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Low Self-Esteem, and many other challenges. I have been in the mental health field for over 5 years and have worked in both outpatient and school-based settings. I utilize evidence-based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to assist individuals with learning healthy ways to cope with life stressors. My philosophy is that you are the expert on you, and I am here to guide the way to finding the best version of yourself!


One breakthrough that will always be significant to me is working with a woman who began therapy following a hospitalization for a suicide attempt. Through her hard work and dedication to the therapeutic process, I was able to assist her with finding healthy ways to cope with her anxiety, as well as rebuild her self-love and compassion. She was able to go from having tremendous amounts of shame and guilt, to finding gratitude and a passion for life again.

Clients can generally expect the counseling process with me to be self-guided, low pressure, as well as empowering and encouraging.

The first session with me typically looks like a "getting to know you" meeting. Taking it at your pace, we discuss what brings you to therapy, your past experiences with therapy (if any), and what you would like to gain from our work together.

What motivates me to be a therapist is helping people to feel empowered, discover their strengths, and take back control in their lives.


    What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

    From our sessions, clients can expect to take away healthy coping skills, feeling heard and validated, as well as a deeper understanding of themselves.

    What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

    I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy. 

    Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

    My biggest strengths are my compassion, empathy, and ability to create a space in which people feel comfortable to be open. The process of therapy can feel intimidating for some, which is why I focus on building trust and providing a warm and welcoming environment for each of my clients.
