About Me

Hi! I’m Cierra Edwards, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in New Jersey with four years of experience in the behavioral and mental health field. I specialize in working with young adults navigating life transitions, building self-esteem, and boosting confidence. I also have experience supporting clients through anxiety, depression, family challenges, and identity exploration. My approach is personable and honest—blending kindness with gentle, supportive challenges to help you show up for yourself. I’m committed to providing an LGBTQIA+ affirming space, where you can feel safe and supported in embracing your true self. Above all, I encourage clients to be authentic and open in therapy, creating a space where you can feel truly seen and heard.

FAQs

One breakthrough that stands out to me was working with an adolescentclient who was really struggling—angry, closed off, and making riskychoices. At first, she didn’t want to talk, but I kept showing up for her, gently chipping away at the walls she’d built. Over time, she started toopen up, and eventually, she committed to therapy. Seeing her trust anadult for the first time was incredibly powerful. It was a reminder of howimportant patience, persistence, and genuine care can be in helpingsomeone find their voice.

As your therapist, you can expect a process that’s both open andhonest—where you feel comfortable sharing what’s on your mind. I’ll alsochallenge you along the way and hold you accountable, helping you grow andstay focused on your goals. It’s all about finding the balance betweensupport and pushing yourself forward, so you can make real progress andcreate lasting change.

The first session can feel overwhelming, so I strive to create a comfortable and welcoming space where we can take our time to explore where you’re starting, where you’ve come from, and where you hope to go. This is also an opportunity for me to share my approach to therapy, so we can align on how to work together in the most effective way. You are the expert on yourself, and this initial session marks the beginning of a collaborative therapeutic partnership.

My motivation for being a therapist to help people feel truly seen andvalued, empowering them to take up space in their lives without fear orhesitation. I believe in the quiet power of consistent support. It’s notabout grand gestures, but about showing up—week after week, day afterday—and offering a steady presence. In a world that often feelsunpredictable, knowing someone is there, truly there for you, creates thefoundation for real change. As a therapist, my goal is to be thatunwavering support, helping people build the resilience and clarity theyneed to move forward, no matter what life throws their way.
