Hello, I am going to be honest, writing this bio was a little difficult because I spend most of my day focused on my clients. Whether you have self confidence or not it can be challenging to write about oneself in order to invoke a good impression but I’ll give it a shot !! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor that believes everyone is unique and needs to develop skills that work for you. I use a solution focused approach to assess underlying causes and help relieve symptoms of trauma, maladaptive thinking patterns and increase healthy coping skills. I attended California University of Pennsylvania and I have a minor in music. I have experience in crisis, drug and alcohol, and mental health counseling including in person, couples, telehealth, and group platforms. Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, anger, hopelessness, PTSD, or just struggling to adjust to life’s challenges I am here to help.
No matter the size of the breakthrough they are all significant. I believe we should celebrate the small victories in life because substantial change takes time. Progress not perfection !!!
I feel you are the expert of your life therefore I feel it is important to hear you tell your story. This is how I will discover thought and behavioral patterns that could be potential areas of need. I will help promote positive thinking patterns, increase self-esteem, and combat irrational/overthinking habits.
I typically like to dive right in, get to know my clients, and what they are struggling with. We can begin working on things right away or I can adapt and take a slower approach if you prefer. We will begin building rapport and I will learn what is important to you.
I love seeing my clients make progress and feel better. I like to make people laugh and smile because sometimes laughter is really the best medicine.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My clients can expect an elevation in mood by having a safe environment to unload their burdens. I will provide positive, honest, and non judgmental reflections to help facilitate change.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
Everyone is unique and experiences life differently from their own perspective. Therefore I don’t use just one method or intervention with my clients. I use a variety of evidence-based interventions including Person Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused and Mindfulness Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use, addiction, trauma, eating disorders, social anxiety, mood disorders, and personality disorders. I feel my strengths lie in treating adults struggling with boundary issues, poor communication, unhealthy coping skills, and anger management concerns.
