I first started working as a neurocognitive specialist for three years in the mental health field. I earned my Bachelors of Arts in psychology from La Salle University in 2017. I received my masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a certification of substance abuse and addiction from Immaculata University in 2020. I am a licensed professional counselor who has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults.
I once had a client who was suffering with extreme anxiety during the Covid-19 pandemic. The client never wanted to leave their home, and distanced themselves socially. I worked with helping the client during individual sessions to learn how to identify their warning signs and triggers of anxiety. I assisted the client with learning and practicing healthy coping techniques to better manage their anxiety. Over the duration of sessions, the client was able to go away to college, obtain an internship, and participate in extracurricular activities.
During sessions, we will discuss and explore your current challenges, as well as your past to gain a better understanding of how to apply yourself in the present and your future. Your treatment plan will be your personal plan based on your needs, wants, and readiness to change.
Meeting a therapist for the first time can be anxiety provoking. I like to spend the first session getting to know you as a whole person. I also want you to be able to learn about myself as well to build a therapeutic alliance. We can also discuss any current issues that you are experiencing to allow you have a place to feel heard and understood.
Helping others is a passion of mine. Life is full of ups and downs. Therefore, I want to be able to help people understand their capability of improving their overall life, and tackling any challenges that come their way. I am also passionate about destigmatizing mental illness.
