About Me

Hi, my name is Jeanine Pearson. I am a licensed professional counselor with many years of experience ranging from the community based outpatient setting, school based and wraparound services as well as residential treatment. I firmly believe that therapy is self-care. My approach to treatment is holistic. It is imperative to understand that your emotional, mental and physical health are interrelated and impact one another. The use of regular exercise, journaling, stress management, healthy eating habits and proper sleep will be encouraged. Self-mastery is a journey, one that we will embark upon together. This is safe space to be your authentic self. I look forward to working with you!

FAQs

I assisted a client to recognize how negative social media and television content was triggering anxiety, fear and panic attacks. As a proponent of treating the whole self, the client eliminated this behavior and began utilizing exercise, meditation and prioritized healthier eating resulting in a reduction in anxiety.

Clients can expect an individualized approach to treatment that is tailored to their needs. The importance of consistency with session attendance be communicated, as the commitment to the therapeutic process is imperative.

The initial therapy session will consist of introductions, a discussion of presenting problems, desired outcomes and expectations. The client will be encouraged to share their goals for therapy. In this initial session, the rapport building process will begin.

Recognizing positive change in my clients, as they become the healthiest version of themselves is my motivation. I am driven by small and big wins and successes that transpire.

Clients will be met with understanding, empathy and positive regard. They will recognize my genuine desire to be of assistance with all present concerns and challenges. Clients will leave each session knowing that they were heard and are supported. Together, we will navigate the therapeutic process celebrating progress along the way.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I employ a variety of modalities and tools in treatment. Tenets of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, humanistic and psychodynamic therapy are utilized. Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that my empathic understanding, genuineness, warm personality and effective listening skills are major strengths. The ability to help clients recognize unhealthy beliefs, thoughts and behavior patterns and ways to alter these beliefs are also identified strengths as a therapist.
