About Me

Hi, I'm Caitlin Cummings and I am a licensed professional counselor with ten years of experience working in clinical settings, ranging from outpatient settings, inpatient psychiatric settings, to an alternative school program. I utilize a holistic, client-centered approach that focuses on all aspects of my client-mind, body, and soul. I strive to create a safe place for clients to explore their strengths and foster growth and progress towards wellness goals. Taking the next step in your wellness journey is one to be celebrated, and I am here to guide and support healing and growth! I can’t wait to work together!

I once worked with an adolescent who suffered tremendous loss and trauma in her life. Through the therapeutic process, she slowly began to feel safe and we were able to identify small achievable goals to help her begin to heal. Through providing genuine care, she was able to grow and establish healthy strategies to begin to move forward.

As everyone has their own journey and life experiences that have brought them into exploring the therapeutic process, I generally approach the counseling process with a holistic approach to help identify my client’s strengths, as well as their treatment goals.

In my first sessions, I typically seek to create a non-judgmental space as well as celebrate the experience and journey of growth that the therapeutic process can offer. I use this time to get to know my clients as well as discuss how we can make our time most effective in achieving my client’s goals.

I have always been passionate about helping others, and I have found that feeling connected to others can help us grow and heal. My ability to be a part of that process with my clients is extremely humbling and rewarding.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My counseling style is holistic, supportive, and authentic. I strive to build genuine relationships with my clients to best support their needs. You are an expert on you, and together, we can create a safe place to explore and grow towards your wellness goals. You should expect to take away a sense of value and ownership of your growth and the improved wellness you are striving for. I look forward to working with you!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Client -Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy. Having experience with various treatment methods will allow us to work together and create treatment and goal planning that is tailored to fit your specific needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various treatment settings. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, social anxiety, and mood disorders. I find that one of my biggest strengths is empowering my clients to discover what they want and need so that we can work together to improve their wellness, relationships, and quality of life.
