Hi! My name is Jessica Bryan and I have over 13 years of experience in mental health through community-based services and private practice. I have been a therapist for 3 years. I am here to help you identify the things that matter most to you and overcome the obstacles that keep you from living the life you want. Difficult experiences in life can bring up feelings of anxiety, depression, or lack of direction, it can be hard to know what to do. With compassion and honesty, I will hold a space where you can be your authentic self, without fear of judgment, to work through issues while identifying your inner strengths to be a happier and healthier version of yourself. I look forward to working with you!
I once worked with a client who experienced immense guilt whenever she felt happiness. During our work together she began to truly experience joy and pleasure without guilt weighing her down.
The most important part of the process is the therapeutic relationship. We will take time to build that relationship and work together to meet your personal goals.
Our first session will include time for you to share your history, so I have a clear picture of how we got to where we are today, then we will shift our focus to the present and future by establishing goals for our time together.
I am a therapist because everyone deserves to be valued and accepted and I strive to create an environment for my clients to experience just that. My goal is for you to feel empowered to live your best life.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you? I use an integrative theoretical method borrowing from the Humanistic, Cognitive-Behavioral, Experiential, and Relationship-oriented approaches. My hope is that you take away a feeling of being heard, respected, and valued from each of our sessions. We will develop a partnership to create a plan that works best for you and contributes to your growth.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize? I utilize evidence-based therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Every person is unique, so we will partner to create a treatment plan that is best suited to your needs and may include a variety of techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Therapy, or Solution-Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults, in individual therapy, to address a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and bereavement (including pet loss). I am interested in working with those caring for others, either as a parent or guardian, or a caregiver of someone with an illness. While I do work with a variety of age groups, my primary focus is adults.
