Kayla is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, build emotional resilience, and create meaningful change. With a client-centered, compassionate, and collaborative approach, she strives to provide a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, supported, and empowered. Kayla values developing a strong therapeutic relationship and building rapport, which she considers essential. She is known for her relaxed and empathetic approach to counseling. Kayla earned her Master’s in Counseling from Stockton University.

I worked with a client who was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. I was able to create an environment where she was listened too but also where she felt she didn't have to give up and still could do things she wanted to do. Client was able to do things with her children, go on trips, and not let the diagnosis define her. Helping my client create a positive outlook and challenge herself in ways that she thought was impossible. Empowering her and supporting her though the process. Client was able to achieve her goals, work on ways to cope, and learning how to find herself.

In the beginning, it is focused on getting to know each other and understand what brings you to counseling. I like to work from a warm and relaxed approach to build trust and for you to be comfortable. A strong therapeutic relationship can lead to you fulfilling and completing your goals and having a positive experience with therapy.

Building rapport and creating an environment where you feel heard and comfortable. Gathering information you feel comfortable sharing and developing trust. Identifying reasons you came into counseling and identifying goals you may have. It's important you feel comfortable and that we can move forward in a meaningful way.

I wanted to provide a safe space for clients to feels heard, seen, and supported. I wanted people to feel less alone, more understood, and that they don't have to struggle alone. I like to be apart of their journey and being someone that can help them make sense of their experiences, and creating change for themselves. Seeing someone become happier, achieving their goals, and overcoming obstacles is something I am passionate about.

    I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing & Solution-Focused Therapy.
