I began my journey into the world of psychology and therapy at a young age, having struggled myself with mental health during my teenage years I have always found myself wanting to help others with their mental health challenges. I started my educational path to becoming an LPC at Montclair State University for undergrad and continued my educational career at Fairleigh Dickinson University obtaining my Masters in Clinical Psychology and Counseling. I believe in always offering a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space for my client's. Helping clients to set realistic goals and supporting them through the process. I draw from multiple modalities to best assist my client, focusing on a person centered approach. I have worked with many different ages and populations throughout my career but have mainly focused on adolescents and adults over the past three years. I have experience with ADHD, adjustment disorders, anxiety, autism/spectrum disorder, bipolar, depression, developmental disabilities, eating disorders, OCD, and trauma/PTSD.
A breakthrough that I helped a client achieve was breaking the pattern of codependency. This was significant to me because this pattern had been greatly impacting the client's life in a negative way and had been happening for an extended period of time. Helping the client to break this cycle and get to a place of feeling and being more independent was extremely fulfilling for me.
Clients can expect from day one to feel heard and supported. I also believe in building a good rapport with my clients to help foster and support their ability to grow. Clients can expect to set realistic goals for themselves and be given tools and strategies to help them achieve these goals.
Helping people to feel their best and live as their best selves is what continues to motivate me to be a therapist.
