About Me

Hello! I’m Myranda Reid, a school counselor and counseling resident based in Virginia. I have the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds in a variety of settings. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, where we work together to build a safe, trusting, and understanding space for you. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, my approach is tailored to your unique needs, goals, and experiences. By integrating evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, client-centered approach, we can explore where you might feel blocked, set achievable goals, and build resilience. Together, we’ll work towards navigating life’s challenges with greater confidence and purpose. If you’re ready to explore this season of your life in a supportive and empowering environment, I’d love to hear from you.

FAQs

One of the most meaningful breakthroughs I experienced was with a student who struggled with self-doubt and perfectionism. Over several months, we worked together to explore the root of these feelings, using various techniques to challenge negative thought patterns. Recently, they shared that for the first time, they were able to recognize and celebrate their own achievements without feeling overwhelmed or questioning their worth. This moment of self-acceptance felt like a huge turning point, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the student begin to trust their own strengths and take ownership of the work they have done to get here.

You can expect to feel both supported and challenged in our sessions. While I’ll be there to offer encouragement and understanding, I’ll also help you stay accountable, especially in areas where you're ready to make changes. It's all about finding that balance between comfort and growth, so you can move forward with confidence and clarity.

In our first session, we’ll spend some time getting to know each other and discussing what’s brought you in. I’ll ask a few questions to understand your background and what you're currently experiencing. I know it can feel a little vulnerable to share personal things, so I’ll make sure to move at your pace and revisit anything when you're ready. The goal is to build a comfortable, trusting space where we can both see if we’re a good fit for working together.

What motivates me as a therapist is knowing just how transformative therapy can be. I’ve seen firsthand the powerful impact that a supportive, collaborative space can have on personal growth and healing. It’s incredibly rewarding to help individuals tap into their inner strength, navigate life’s obstacles, and create lasting change. Every person has their own unique journey, and being part of that process is what keeps me passionate about the work I do.
