Raluca Irion
Hello, my name is Raluca Irion, I have 5 years’ experience working with children, teens, and adults in various settings. I have worked in Intensive In-home and Outpatient settings. Counseling can feel intimidating as it's a process of peeling back the layers and getting to know ourselves on a deeper level. It's also about facing our greatest fear, shadows, and things that we would rather block out or not talk about. I am here to help you normalize the human experience and remove the sense of fear, shame, and guilt by using individualized approaches to help you create the life you desire and gain the confidence to take back control of your life.
A client I will never forget would be a client that struggled with anxiety and depression around the pressures of keeping the peace in her family by taking on the burdens of the family. Through our work together, the client was able to gain an awareness of faulty childhood narratives that reinforced old patterns that led to anxiety and depression. She realized that she stifled her own voice, she put other people's needs before hers and pleased others out of fear of abandonment or disappointing those in her life. Client worked on being authentic and putting her needs first and thus decreasing her symptoms.
My aim as a counselor is to provide you with a safe and non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself, knowing that someone is genuinely listening and cares about your well-being. I want to help you process the challenges you face and develop effective coping skills that are tailored to your unique situation(s).
The first session is all about getting to know you. I will gather information about you, and explore what brings you to therapy, and your goals for therapy. I want to provide you with a safe environment where you can freely express your thoughts and emotions.
As an individual who has endured a life-altering incident during childhood, namely a car accident resulting in lasting scars and ongoing challenges, I possess a deep understanding of the hardships one can encounter throughout life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
The journey to healing and growth is a process unique to each person. It is essential to understand that progress does not occur instantaneously, but rather unfolds gradually over time. It is important to be prepared for the ups and downs of this journey, as things may seem challenging initially before they truly start to improve. To maximize the effectiveness of counseling, it is crucial to be personally committed and ready to put in the hard work alongside your counselor. Remember, your willingness to actively participate in this process will greatly contribute to the positive outcomes you seek.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Gestalt Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked with adolescents and adults that experience a wide range of emotions and life experiences. My biggest strength is connecting with people and bringing a sense of awareness and normalcy to daily struggles and the pressures of having to show up for ourselves a certain way. The heaviest weight is whatever thoughts you have in your mind. Recognizing this, will help you realize that you have the ultimate control to direct your life the way you want based on what you choose to believe in.
