About Me

As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said: “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” I believe that every individual has within themselves the resources they need to take actions towards creating the changes that align with their values and purpose. I have extensive professional experiences providing mental health services in residential settings, partial care (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient treatment. I enjoy working with clients of all ages and diversity in navigating challenges with life transitions, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, interpersonal relations, grief/loss, trauma, and cultural issues. Together, we will build a partnership that promotes mutual accountability, investment and empowerment to create changes that are sustainable, impactful and intentional. My role is to actively support you with tapping into your internal resources, strengthening your core self, and developing individualized tools in order to enrich your quality of life, foster healing and cultivate personal growth.

FAQs

A person who has undergone an event that's considered to be traumatic to them might experience a deep-rooted loss of control, sense of self and trust in others. One of my breakthroughs took place when a long-term client had gained a sense of safety, security and empowerment in our therapeutic process to the extent of allowing themselves to let go of the guilt, shame and perceived helplessness associated with past pains.

I attend to each therapeutic relationship with individualized lenses, a sense of humor, absolute transparency and the flexibility to specify my approaches in consideration of each person's needs, cultural backgrounds, personal values and upbringings. During sessions, we may engage in exercises that will help enhance your distress tolerance, emotion regulation, sense of empowerment and communication efficiency. The therapeutic process could be experimental, free-flowing or structured in accordance to what works best for you.

Our first session will be focusing on gaining insights into your needs, goals and potential concerns with therapy. I will not only embrace your curiosity, courage and fears but also greet them with understanding, patience and sensitivity to the best of my capabilities. Show up however you are and I'll meet you wherever you're at.

We all feel alone at times in our struggles and those periods or moments could feel overwhelmingly endless and excruciatingly isolating. Therefore, I would like to contribute a companionship that is comfortable, hopeful and trusting. I'm led by my resolute beliefs in an individual's resiliency to overcome life trials and thrive in the face of adversity when provided with the right environment, tools and resources.

Highlights

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I would encourage you to allow yourself to show up however you are: scared, hesitant, doubtful and at the same time be open to experiencing vulnerability and discomfort in an affirming space. We will work on expanding your window of comfort and increasing your sense of control that are transferable from the therapeutic environment to your daily living. I would like to invite you to be a part of a mutual and equal partnership where we work as a team to create insights into your unresolved concerns and develop personalized strategies to meet your needs.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy & Emotional Freedom Techniques.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a bicultural individual, I am able to see things from two different perspectives, which helps me remain open, inquisitive and adaptable to various personal values and ways of life. I take pride in building a therapeutic relationship with you that feels validating, empowering, mutually transparent and compassionately confrontational. I welcome feedbacks and modify my therapeutic processes to meet your needs and priorities. I provide a presence that is consistent, authentic, and secure, so you could show up as raw as possible in a space that is designed specifically for you. I maintain an unwavering integrity in my commitment to your mental health needs and a willful openness that is constantly curious about your worldviews, self-concept and core values.
