About Me

Tyeshia is a doctorate-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals navigating a wide range of mental health challenges. With a strong foundation in both psychotherapy and medication management, she partners with clients to create a safe, supportive environment where healing and growth can flourish. She offers a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and supported. Tyeshia works with adults and adolescents who are experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, adjustment issues, and life transitions. Whether a client is seeking therapy, medication management, or a combination of both, she tailors care to each person’s unique needs using a person-centered, holistic approach that considers not just symptoms but the whole person and their story.

FAQs

One of the most impactful moments in my practice was supporting a young adult who had been living with persistent panic attacks and depression that deeply affected their daily life. Over time, through a thoughtful combination of medication management and therapeutic support, they began to reconnect with themselves by returning to school, building healthier relationships, and gradually regaining their sense of purpose. Being part of that journey and witnessing their resilience unfold reminded me of the profound strength people carry within them, and why this work is so meaningful to me.

When we start working together, my main focus is getting to know you and building a trusting relationship where you feel safe and heard. We’ll spend time exploring your story, issues impacting you, and what you hope to achieve. I like to use a mix of approaches depending on what feels right for you including cognitive behavioral techniques, supportive talk therapy, trauma focused therapy, and mindfulness tools.

Your first session with me is all about getting to know you. I conduct a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation that includes your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, life circumstances, and goals for treatment. I take time to understand your goals and preferences, and we begin to map out a treatment plan that aligns with your needs whether that includes therapy, medication management, or both.
