Hello! My name is Allison Carluccio and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with five years of experience working in clinical settings. During those five years, I have provided Mental Health Services in a Preschool setting, High School setting, Private Practice and interned in an Intensive Outpatient Crisis Center. As your therapist, my goal is to inspire and support you in creating attainable and sustainable goals that assist changes in your life. I am committed to helping you become the best version of yourself and to help you feel accomplished, confident, and empowered by teaching healthy coping strategies. Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming and scary, but I am committed to providing a safe space to help you overcome any struggles you are experiencing.
While working in a high school, I recognized signs of early onset schizophrenia in a student. Due to our trusting relationship, student confided her concerning thoughts of harming herself and others to me. Because of this, a higher level of care was needed. After a psychological evaluation, student was medicated for her schizophrenia and strategies and new goals were put in place. She was able to return to school as a functioning student, graduated high school and was accepted to a college honors program.
Clients can expect a relaxed atmosphere with an individualized approach to fit their needs and comfort levels. After building a strong rapport, goals and strategies will be put in place to be used on a regular basis.
Typically, my first session consists of an open conversation to gather general information and ask questions not only about what brought you to therapy, but also give you a chance to ask me questions to get to know me. I give an overview of what therapy will consist of and what therapy is. To me, if you are seeking therapy, you want to see change and make progress. If you continue along your same path, no change will be made. Therapy is a time to be vulnerable and make changes in order to be the best version of yourself.
I’m a therapist because I have a strong desire to help others realize their full potential. It gives me great joy to guide others to overcome obstacles so they may accomplish their goals.
