Hi! My name is Gail Conner, LCSW and I am married with 3 adult children. I am retired from Region Ten CSB in Charlottesville VA, where i worked for 25 yrs. and Augusta Health Hospital where I worked in the Emergency Dept. for 14 yrs. I have experience working with individuals with a wide array of issues ranging from SMI, to substance use, to trauma, and self-harm. I like to incorporate meditation practice when I feel it may be useful, along with CBT and DBT.
The most significant breakthroughs are those where the client realizes they have the skills and abilities to achieve their goals.
They can expect a relaxed environment with no judgement. They will be expected to put in the work but I'm with them throughout the journey.
The first session is generally relaxed. We will take the time to get to know each other by gathering information about the client and providing information about myself.
My motivation is to provide individuals with the tools and skills that I did not have when I needed someone to talk to.
