Kirsten Davis
Hi! My name is Kirsten Davis, but you can call me K. I am a Resident in Counseling in the state of Virginia and earned both my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology: Christian Counseling and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. I have experience working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, life transitions, and other mental health challenges. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to move toward healing. Outside of the therapy room, you can usually find me spending time with my family, friends, and my lovable hound dog, Charlie. I enjoy traveling, reading, playing board games, and catching up on competition TV shows—especially while enjoying some great Mexican food!
A particularly meaningful breakthrough I was honored to witness involved a client navigating a major life transition. Over the course of several sessions, we created a supportive space where they felt safe to process their experience at their own pace. With time, we were able to collaboratively explore effective coping strategies and identify additional external supports. This helped the client adjust to the change in a way that felt manageable.
Clients can expect a collaborative, compassionate process where they are met with empathy, curiosity, and a space to explore their thoughts and emotions without judgment. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, identifying goals, building coping strategies, and fostering insight that supports meaningful growth.
In our first session, I focus on creating a comfortable and supportive space where we can get to know each other and discuss what brings you to therapy. We'll talk through the counseling process, confidentiality, and any initial questions or concerns you may have — all at a pace that feels natural and respectful to you.
What motivates me to be a therapist is the deep belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported. I’m passionate about creating a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences and gain the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and clarity.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Life often presents unexpected challenges, and you shouldn't have to navigate them alone. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.In our sessions, you can expect empathy, collaboration, and curiosity. I strive to help you feel seen, heard, and understood while equipping you with practical tools and deeper insight to face life’s difficulties. Therapy is not about having all the answers — it’s about creating space to ask the hard questions, find your voice, and work toward meaningful change. No matter where you are in your journey, this chapter does not define your entire story.Healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk that path alone.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my flexibility and ability to meet clients exactly where they are. I recognize that each person’s healing journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My goal is to create a space that feels supportive, respectful, and tailored to your individual needs — using approaches that align with your goals, values, and pace as we work through life’s challenges together.
