Hello, my name is Saila Javed, and I am a licensed therapist with specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am passionate about helping women, children, and young adults navigate life's challenges with greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and personal growth. My approach is both evidence-based and culturally sensitive, tailoring interventions to meet each individual’s needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, or interpersonal challenges, I work collaboratively with clients to develop coping strategies and foster emotional well-being. My goal is to empower clients to gain deeper insight into their feelings, develop healthy relationships, and lead fulfilling lives. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward healing and growth.
One session, the client shared a memory from childhood—one where they were in a play at school, and even though they didn’t have a lead role, they received a round of applause for their performance. They had dismissed it at the time as a small, insignificant moment, but during our conversation, they began to realize that this was one of the few times they were acknowledged and celebrated for something they did.In that moment, a breakthrough occurred. The client began to see that their sense of inadequacy wasn’t about their true value or abilities—it was about how they learned to suppress their own needs and desires to avoid rejection.
Assessment and Goal Setting: In the first meeting, I’ll focus on getting to know you—your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This helps us establish a clear understanding of what you want to work on and how we can tailor the process to your needs.Exploring Concerns: We’ll dive into what brought you to counseling, whether it’s specific challenges (like anxiety, depression, relationship issues) or broader life transitions (career changes, grief, identity exploration).Clarifying Expectations: We’ll also talk about how therapy works, what kind of support you can expect, and any questions or concerns you might have.Deepening the Work: As we continue, the sessions will allow us to explore deeper emotions.
The first therapy session is a critical time for building rapport, understanding your needs, and laying the foundation for our work together.I’ll begin by creating a warm, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable. The first session can sometimes feel a bit nerve-wracking, but my goal is to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. We’ll start by discussing confidentiality, so you know that everything shared in our sessions is private (with exceptions based on ethical or legal requirements). I’ll also explain the structure of therapy and what you can expect going forward, so you feel informed and empowered.
As a therapist, my motivation stems from a deep sense of connection to the human experience and a desire to help others understand themselves better, find healing, and achieve personal growth. I believe in the power of self-awareness, self-compassion, and authentic human connection as catalysts for change. We’ll spend time discussing what brought you to therapy. You might have a clear reason for seeking help, or you may be uncertain. That’s okay! The goal here is to listen to what’s on your mind and understand the issues or emotions that feel most pressing.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Empathy is often regarded as one of the most powerful and essential strengths for a therapist, and if it's your biggest strength, it shapes how you connect with clients and helps them heal. As an empathic therapist, you offer a non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings without fear of criticism or shame. Your ability to accept clients as they are—without labeling or rushing to fix their problems—empowers them to experience themselves more fully. This acceptance helps them to make sense of their emotions and behaviors, leading to deeper self-awareness and growth.Sometimes, clients need to know that their emotions, experiences, and struggles are valid. As an empathic therapist, your understanding and validation can be a powerful tool for healing. When people feel seen and acknowledged, it can lead to relief, clarity, and a sense of hope—vital elements of the therapeutic process.
