About Steven Taragano
As a Licensed Associate Counselor with six years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and develop the tools they need to feel more confident, balanced, and empowered. I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University and have experience supporting clients through a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, negative thought patterns, stress, and other life-related challenges.
My approach is grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable being themselves and openly exploring their thoughts and emotions. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside each client to better understand their unique experiences, identify areas for growth, and develop practical strategies that support their overall well-being.
Outside of my work as a counselor, I am a huge baseball fan and enjoy following the sport whenever I can. I believe that bringing authenticity and genuine connection into both my personal and professional life is an important part of building meaningful relationships with others.

My clients can expect from our sessions and work together is change that is both expected and unexpected. They will be sessions where you may feel that your growth has taken many steps forward and sessions where you may feel emotional exhausted. What is important to for my clients to understand is that both are to be expected and necessary for change to happen.

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Client-Centered Therapy & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
