FAQs
One of the most meaningful moments in therapy is watching someone go from feeling like their trauma controls them to realizing they have choices. The goal isn't to erase what happened or pretend it didn't hurt. It's helping someone reach a place where the trauma becomes part of their story rather than the story that controls their future.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and understand what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, relevant history, and what you hope to change. My approach is individually designed and paced based on what you bring. You’ll have space to ask questions and decide whether we are a good fit. If trauma or grief is involved, we’ll move at a pace that feels safe and appropriate. Together, we’ll begin identifying your goals and a path forward. You don’t have to have it all figured out; we’ll start where you are.
What motivates me is seeing people realize that their past does not have to determine their future. I find meaning in helping clients understand the experiences and patterns that have shaped them while also recognizing that they have choices about what comes next. I believe therapy should be compassionate, honest, and purposeful. I want my clients to feel safe enough to be vulnerable and supported enough to have difficult conversations. The most rewarding part of my work is witnessing those moments when something shifts; when a client begins trusting themselves, setting a boundary, processing something they have carried for years, or realizing they are capable of responding differently. Ultimately, I am motivated by helping people move from simply surviving to living with greater self-awareness, confidence, and freedom.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I provide a compassionate and individualized space where we can slow things down, understand what you are experiencing, and work toward meaningful change. My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from EMDR, somatic and attachment-based approaches, as well as other evidence-informed therapeutic practices. I recognize that there is no single approach that works for everyone. Together, we can identify what feels right for you and develop a therapeutic process that respects your experiences, strengths, values, and goals. Most importantly, I believe you are more than the challenges that brought you to therapy. My goal is not simply to help you manage symptoms, but to help you better understand yourself, develop healthier patterns, process what you have experienced, and build a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I believe therapy should be both compassionate and honest. Understanding where our patterns come from matters, but understanding them is only the beginning. Meaningful change requires being willing to look honestly at what is no longer working and develop the courage to do something different.
