About Daniel Rush
Hi, I’m Daniel. I’m a licensed social worker in Toms River, NJ. I work with diverse populations in mental health counseling, psychoeducation, sexual health education, and advocacy for marginalized groups. I bring my unique knowledge and experience in mental health to fields such as advocacy and judicial systems. I am Safe Space trained with experience in case management, conducting intakes, advising, and mental health counseling in a variety of settings.

The first client I ever had for therapy had gained so much confidence and happiness by the time of our last session. I had encouraged her to keep showing up for herself even though she was struggling with anxiety and low self-esteem. She had found so much joy in her world once we reached our final session.
We will get to know each other and then create a treatment plan together. During sessions, we will talk about significant moments of the client's week and then we will follow the treatment plan which may include psycho-education, reframing, and mindfulness.
The first session is typically an intake in which I gather information about your bio-psycho-socials. This is also where we will develop a treatment plan together.
The desire to help those who have been let down by society or those around them and to show them their full potential using their strengths and cardinal qualities is what motivates me as a therapist.

Clients can expect to be listened to and understood during sessions with me. I engage in compassionate treatment plans for a variety of mental health struggles. I will help clients find solutions based on their innate strengths and inner knowledge of themselves, while also encouraging them to practice mindfulness in moments of high stress.

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My biggest strength is seeing competency and the ability to overcome hardships in every one of my clients. I will never give up towards helping a client see their strengths and using that to become the best version of themselves. I am also a great listener and I pass no judgments. I have an open-mind and I hope that clients will feel comfortable telling me anything.
