About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 7 years of experience in diverse backgrounds working with children, families, and adults. I have spent time as a guidance counselor where I worked with students to reach their full potential and encourage well-being for their future. I learned the Children's System of Care by working for Children's Mobile Response where I met with families in the community experiencing crisis or chronic mental health symptoms. Through my work at Mobile Response, I connected with hundred of families in Ocean County to connect them with the resources that they need. In my most recent work with NJ4S Compass Program in Monmouth, I was able to meet with students individually and provide brief, solution focused interventions while they are in school at no cost to them. In addition, I work with adult clients in the Outpatient setting through Creative Life Strategies and assist my clients with finding peace in their lives that they deserve.

FAQs

I worked with a 16 year old African American client through the NJ4S program in 2025. The client was referred to the program due to anger outbursts, negative behaviors in school, lack of motivation, and conflict within the home. The client was from a Haitian Creole family where they had taught youth not to share her feelings with others. I began working with this client by creating a genuine and safe environment where she was able to express her emotions and learned to better identify them. Together, we worked on a list of triggers for her anger, and coping skills to calm her down. The youth learned how to appropriately express her anger and avoid triggers, resulting in a better experience in the classroom. Youth became motivated to do school work once she was able to decrease her anger.

In my counseling process, we will set attainable goals and check in with them as appropriate. I will address your childhood/past as necessary to understand your perception of the world at this time. Each week, we will discuss topics of your choosing related to what you would like to change or work on. I will encourage you to address your thinking patterns in a different way if they are detrimental to you, and I will praise the "ah-ha" moments.

In the first session, I will gather a glimpse of information from all aspects and areas of your life to understand your full functioning. I will ask questions in the area of family, social life, work life, spirituality, leisure, etc. I want to get a whole picture of who you are and the people and places that you visit along the way.

Chaos is what motivates me to be a therapist. Our lives can be chaotic, and they can also be peaceful. I want each client to know that the chaos is okay, and I can help to guide them through that when it feels like too much.

Highlights

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to take away a new perspective on their life after a session with me. I aim to guide my clients to look at their narrative of themselves and understand their perceptions of themselves and their life. Through building a therapeutic relationship, we will deconstruct this narrative so that it more accurately describes who they are and what they want out of life.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Attachment-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Existential Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is that I will make you feel like you can be completely open with me. By creating an environment of acceptance and understanding, I will guide you to speak your truth and analyze your thoughts in order to create more peace in your life.
