Gina is a licensed clinical social worker with an MSW from Columbia University School of Social Work. Her practice fosters the idea that all individuals have the ability to heal the self through resiliency and empowerment. Identifying personal strengths and supportive relationships can promote the healing process. She arrived at this approach through experiences with individuals struggling with grief and loss, depression, anxiety, family and other relationship issues. Gina believes that by creating a compassionate and therapeutic relationship, together you can accomplish goals, meet intentions, and navigate through life’s most difficult challenges.
One breakthrough that stood out to me was helping a young client work through the grief, anger, and sadness from the loss of both parents. Overtime, the client was able to find meaning, identity, and connection, which was a powerful step in his healing and future goals.
Therapy with me is a supportive and collaborative process. We will work together to explore and identify what is most important to you and develop ways to cope that feel meaningful in your every day life.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask what brought you to therapy and what you are hoping to achieve. We will talk about your experiences at a pace that is comfortable for you.
I am motivated by the opportunity to walk alongside people during difficult times. It is meaningful to me to help clients find strength and healing.
