FAQs
I had a client who was experiencing agoraphobia, after being involved in an accident, resulting in her barely leaving the home for a few years. Now, she is successfully working five days per week, saving to buy her own car, and takes her dogs on walks.
The client can expect a collaborative effort between themselves and the counselor, where they will identify their goals for treatment and together, we will create realistic and manageable goals to work towards them. Clients can expect a comfortable and warm energy, non-judgment, empathy, professionalism, and respect during the entire counseling process.
During the first session, I prefer to focus on getting to know the client, including what brings them to counseling, information about their daily life and support system, and any other pertinent information that they would like to share. Rapport building is my priority during the first session, as I want the client to feel understood and comfortable with me as a clinician.
What motivates me to be a therapist is the belief that people are capable of growth, healing, and change, even if they are experiencing pain or uncertainty. I am continually inspired by the resilience that I see in others and feel honored to be someone they can trust during vulnerable or difficult moments.
Highlights
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I take a collaborative approach to therapy, which means we’ll work together to explore what’s going on in your life, identify what’s most important to you, and develop tools and strategies that feel realistic and empowering. Whether you're processing past experiences, navigating current stressors, or simply trying to better understand yourself, I’ll meet you with compassion, curiosity, and respect. We will examine the role of negative thinking processes and how they impact behavior and emotions, as well as reviewing coping skills and healthy habits that may lead to a reduction in mental health symptoms.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I utilize evidence-based therapies, including Psychotherapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.
