FAQs
While working with Veteran experiencing homelessness, mental and substance abuse issues, I utilized a person-centered/Harm reduction approach. One particular Veteran stayed less than 24hours in the program. When he was ready, he returned for treatment, not as a failure, but with personal strength. He stated, he held on to the words of our first meeting, "it was okay, that at that time he was not ready But, when he was, he could return." He has remained substance free.
The sessions will be a relaxed, with supportive listening, humor, and a goal-oriented approach to our joint journey to healing. . My therapeutic style is Person Centered which includes the acknowledgment of past or current trauma and how it may be affecting responses, comprehension and reaction to events. In session we will explore the reason you have sought therapy, while building a trusting relationship.
Together we will begin to explore what you feel has brought you to seek therapy. Through our therapeutic discussions, we will explore and develop insight into what has brought you to seek assistance. Together we will develop goals, skills and coping mechanisms for you to live your best life.
During my career as a Licensed Social Worker, I have also held positions in housing management, case manager, and Clinical Supervisor of staff. These experiences only strengthened my belief and passion that persons regardless of their life situation all need someone to talk to. As a therapist, I am dedicated to helping you be the best you can be.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
At the end of each session my goal is for you to have had a positive experience as we work together to achieve your personal goals. The working relationship between client and therapist is finding that balance for a successful and positive road to healing.
