Hi! I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia with a Master's Degree from Eastern Kentucky University. I have worked in a variety of practices and settings that have afforded me the chance to learn from numerous perspectives. I have a special interest in working with adults with a history of childhood abuse or neglect, as well as those navigating grief or the transition to independent living. My training as a death doula has deepened my understanding of grief, allowing me to offer a more compassionate approach.
My biggest breakthroughs with clients happen after they understandthemselves which leads to large shifts from career changes, to creating anew normal in response to grief, to improvements in how they are able toconnect in their relationships.
I am here to offer a safe and supportive space where clients can exploretheir thoughts and feelings without judgement. I take a collaborativeapproach to sessions and encourage clients to discuss topics and concernsthat are important to them. I provide some guidance and follow their lead.
My first session is centered around creating a comfortable environment forclients to share what motivated clients to come see me. There will be briefhousekeeping information to go through, however, the majority of the sessionwill be to gain a sense of who they are.
My clients are my biggest motivator. It is such a privilege to witnessclient's growth throughout the course of therapy. And also to see the reliefthat they are simultaneously perfectly acceptable. In that middle ground, there's so much room to explore and create. Therapy is a beautiful thing andI love being a part of the process.
