I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and my background includes working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital and outpatient therapy. My therapeutic approach is a strengths-based approach, which means I will empower you by building on your strengths. I work with adults, and my areas of specialty include OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, eating disorders, trauma, life transitions, insomnia, stress, and chronic pain. I can assist with improving self-esteem, coping skills, self-care, communication, and setting boundaries. I am trained in many different therapy modalities, but I will tailor my therapy modality to you and will find which approach will help you the most to help accomplish any goals you might have.
I once worked with a client for a few months that struggled with Contamination OCD, which made it difficult to go in public or leave the house. Through our work together, they were able to face their fears, and step by step, they were able to get back to their life, enjoy time with their friends, and have a successful career.
I use a holistic approach, which means I look at many different areas (physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual, financial health). Some of my other approaches include looking at your strengths using a strengths based approach and solution-focused to assist you with coming up with goals and solutions to any problem you may face.
My first session is spent getting to know more about what brought you to therapy while reviewing some background information as well. This helps me come up with a treatment plan that best fits your needs. I also understand that opening up to a stranger can be difficult, so you can share as much or as little as you would like. My goal is to make you feel comfortable by providing a safe and nonjudgmental space.
Ultimately, I became a therapist because I wanted to help other people. I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a social worker and make a difference in the life of others. I saw injustices happening around me, and I wanted to do something about it. I started working in a hospital and ultimately decided outpatient would be the most effective way to use my skills to assist people long-term.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked in an inpatient and outpatient setting providing individual and group therapy to various populations and concerns. The experience I have is backed with knowledge and skills. I specialize depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, eating disorders, ADHD, OCD, and sleep disorders. I am also interested in working with individuals who suffer from chronic pain. While I do work in a general way with various concerns, my focus population is adults who are looking to manage their mental health.
