About Me

Hello, I’m Briana Holmes currently a Supervisee in Social Work working towards being a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience providing therapeutic services to a variety of individuals in various settings including inpatient and outpatient settings. I am passionate about working with young children and adolescents. This stage of life can be a difficult time due to the physical and psychological changes, therefore, I work to provide emotional support and guidance to address any issues my clients may face. I use a person-centered approach which allows me to meet my clients where they are and allow them to have the full range of creating their desired goals. Being a young child or adolescent can be hard, let’s find ways to manage some of those stressful issues you may be faced with.

FAQs

I have previously worked with a young teenager who had social anxiety and depression. The client would often miss school due to school triggering her symptoms. Towards the end of services she was attending school regularly, joined a after school program and made a few friends.

I work to create an environment that is a safe space by being compassionate and empathetic. I focus on allowing my clients autonomy in their treatment which allows the client to be heard and gives them the empowerment to meet one’s needs. Asking for help is the first step and I will help guide you to achieve your desired goals.

My first session consist of getting a better understanding of the presenting symptoms/reasons why my client is seeking counseling. In addition to providing a general idea of future sessions, building rapport and answering any concerning questions.

I have always had a desire to want to help others since I was a young child. Having a parent who advocated for young youth who’s voices were not heard at times, motivated me to want to be a voice for others. It’s rewarding to know I have helped someone face/overcome a difficult situation regardless of how big or small the situation may have been.
