About Me

My practice serves individuals who are struggling with various issues such as self-esteem, drugs, alcohol, bullying, anger management, family conflict. My treatment approach is tailored to the client's need using person centered, solution focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I believe that healing starts with facing uncomfortable life situations by working on debilitating circumstances and conquering fears without isolating and resorting back to negative cognitions that leave you feeling stuck. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I will challenge you while also supporting you to reach self-sufficiency. One goal in treatment is prioritize goals that help clients to feel validated and accomplished. I also offer Christian therapy to those who might be struggling with their faith or looking for answers that will strengthen their walk with God.

I was able to help a client establish healthy boundaries with coworkers and develop healthy coping mechanisms to strengthen her approach with asking for what she need and using "I" statements.

My clients can expect me to start off with building a therapeutic rapport with them. I would also help them process and prioritize issues in the order of their importance. Lastly, I would help the identify the root cause for coming into treatment and seeing how their life can be better managed if they face their problems head on.

I would ask the person about their preferred pronouns. The first session consists of a biopsychosocial, gathering family history, identifying treatment plan goals. I do talk about how I am a mandated reporter, how I would keep everything confidential unless a child or elderly person was being physical abused, if they are a threat to themselves or others.

I am motivated to be a therapist because I always found social work to be intriguing. As a junior in college, my professor encouraged me and my classmates to experience therapy for ourselves so that we would feel comfortable in addressing issues that we have also faced to avoid transference from our clients.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to take away a sense of peace and validation from their current situation. Clients often talk about feeling relieved and my therapeutic approach offer direction, guidance and support to tackle day-to-day problems that leave them feeling stuck. Clients feel inspired and hopeful about their future because of the positive affirmations and accountability I provide in therapy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I utilize evidence-based therapies, including:Psychotherapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing & Solution-Focused Therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel that I am equipped to help anyone and have a non-judgmental approach that is open and ready to support anyone with my expertise. I am committed to help clients progress towards leading a healthy lifestyle that is conducive for their recover.
