Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with ten years of experience in various clinical settings, who specializes in treating adults struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, relational strain, and life transitions. I practice using a collaborative empowerment perspective, utilizing an integrative approach that is grounded in a humanistic and person-centered framework. This means that I partner my training in various therapeutic techniques with your unique life experiences, relational patterns, internal voice, growth/healing needs, and personality.
I worked with a Client who had taken critical messages from childhood and incorporated them into their own internal voice. This client’s negative messages about self were limiting and causing intense feelings of shame and doubt. I worked with this client to establish somatic tools to calm their anxiety response, identify triggers, find accurate core beliefs about self, use self-compassion, and to find their true internal voice.
My clients can expect to enter a calm, supportive, and accepting space where they feel valued and heard. We will work to identify strengths and problem areas and we will work together to develop treatment skills to meet individual needs.
Our first session is a time for you to get to know me as a therapist and for me to learn about you and the concerns that brought you in. We will go at your own pace to identify areas of concern and plans for treating them.
Watching Individual grow and heal lifelong wounds by learning new tools and through identifying their own internal strengths has been the honor of my life. I truly believe in the collaborative and restorative space of therapy.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
My counseling style is warm, supportive, and genuine. I deeply believe that all individuals deserve a space to be accurately heard and a place to gain insight into the life patterns that have caused instability. I believe in the therapy relationship as a joint and transformative space that can lead individuals to discover their unique internal capacity to connect, heal, and thrive.
What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?
I tailor my approach to meet your unique needs using therapeutic techniques from Attachment-Based Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness based Therapies, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Somatic based therapies, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I have worked with young adult, adult, and older-adult populations in individual and group therapy settings. I specialize in counseling clients with a wide range of concerns including relational wounds, depression, anxiety, panic episodes, life adjustments, substance use, trauma, and grief/loss.
