About Me

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with twelve years of experience. My counseling approaches and interventions include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care, and more. I specialize in working with addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and mood disorders. I encourage my clients to define their success and progress by setting goals and defining what progress looks like for them. I will be that support and guidance on their path toward growth. I approach psychotherapy as a partnership: I believe most people have the answers within themselves and need someone to help them uncover those answers. I communicate openly and honestly with my clients during therapy. I’m here to listen and to understand you. Our wounds can be excruciating, but they are our pathways toward growth opportunities.

I worked with a client who had a significant trauma history as a child. This client, through some difficult and painful work, was able to connect to his inner child and provide this child with compassion and safety.

I approach the counseling process as a partnership. We will work together to uncover what is standing in the way of having a full and satisfying life and to achieve the goals you set for yourself.

Our first session will involve me gathering a great deal of information about you, your background and history, and presenting concerns. It will also involve time for you to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the counseling process.

I have always felt my gifts included connecting one-on-one with people and helping them through challenging times in their lives. I'm motivated every day by witnessing my clients grow, change, and make progress toward their goals.

They can also expect to take away new skills to manage their mental health symptoms and new perspectives on how they operate in the world. Clients can expect to set their own goals for therapy and to work on those goals within sessions.

    What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

    I utilize evidence-based therapies including Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths- Based Therapy & Trauma-Focused Therapy.

    My greatest strength is developing rapport with clients through active listening and empathy. Other strengths include relating well with all different types of people, sharing insights about ways in which clients keep themselves safe, and helping clients understand how their thoughts impact their emotions and behavior.
