About Me

Hi, my name is Rochel Greer. I am a licensed clinical social worker with several years of experience working in a variety of settings, most recently a methadone clinic to treat substance use and an outpatient mental health clinic utilizing tele-health. I assist people with a range of diagnoses, primarily in the area of anxiety and depression in the adolescent and adult population. We will explore the reasons behind what is bothering you and collaborate together to best manage your feelings and emotions. My main treatment modalities are cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness. I believe in meeting a client where they’re at and working collaboratively to ensure the best treatment outcome. I work hard at maintaining a safe and judgment free space for clients to come and express their thoughts and concerns. I look forward to meeting with you and working with you to achieve your treatment goals.

FAQs

I was working with a client that was suffering from extreme anxiety, panic attacks, and negative self-talk. Through working with this client and talking through coping skills as well as practical steps to shift his mindset, his anxiety, panic attacks, and negative self-talk have all diminished significantly and he has seen a big improvement in all areas of his life.

My counseling process starts off with building rapport as well as a thorough biopsychosocial assessment to determine any early traumas as well as background information that will be helpful for treatment. After that comes the creation of a treatment plan that is tailor made to your needs and wants. In sessions following that we will start to work through the challenges that have been identified as well as any problems that come up along the way. We check in about treatment progress quite often to make sure we are staying on track with your wants and needs from therapy.

During our first session you can expect a combination of getting to know each other as well as your treatment expectations. We will go over some background information that will be helpful for treatment as well as any policies that are important for you to know. We will also discuss what brought you into treatment as well as treatment goals.

I have always felt as though it was my calling to help others. Throughout my years of being in the social work field, I have seen people not receive the services they need so I appreciate being in a position to do my part in helping people receive therapy and achieve their treatment goals. I have found throughout my work that I feel fulfilled being a therapist in seeing people progress and thrive and that plays a part in motivating me to continue as well.

Highlights

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect to come away from sessions feeling as though their thoughts, feelings, and emotions have been heard and validated. I believe that our life experiences play a part in how we approach our everyday lives so my clients can expect a comprehensive approach to treatment. I work with my clients to progress each week on the goals that they have set for therapy.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My treatment methods consist of evidence-based practices. This includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. I collaborate with clients to create treatment plans that are geared towards the client’s treatment goals. I believe that it is important for a client to have autonomy over their treatment and that it will look unique to each individual.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Some of my biggest strengths include the range of population I have worked with, treatment settings, and my own personal values. I have worked with mainly the adolescent and adult population but I do have experience working with children and the geriatric population as well. I have worked in a crisis drop in center, a methadone clinic treating substance use, and outpatient mental health clinics both in person and via tele-health. I value each individual getting the best possible treatment that they need and I feel confident in advocating and empowering each and every one of my clients.
